The 2023 Sea Pro 228 DLX is a serious bay-fishing boat that blends shallow-water capability with enough size and horsepower for comfortable offshore runs. Sea Pro’s 228 is 22'8" long with an 8'4" beam, a 15° transom deadrise, 61-gallon fuel capacity, and a dry hull weight of about 2,325 lb. without the engine. It has a 12" draft, twin 16-gallon livewells, and a 150-quart fish box. Equiped with a Suzuki DF200A is a particularly good match for the 228. It's a 200-hp, 2.9-liter inline-four four-stroke with DOHC, 16 valves, electronic fuel injection, and variable valve timing. It produces 200 hp at about 5,800 rpm and has a 5,500–6,100 rpm operating range. The combination should give the boat strong hole shot, good midrange torque, and efficient cruising, while keeping the engine package relatively compact.
